Sunflowers

I’m back at my desert/river/gorge boondock site. It didn’t make any sense to me why I would come back here, but I went because… I was drawn. I understand now why I am here.

Contemplating, meditating, growing. More later – when things have settled.

Book Covers

I’ve finished the eBook version of Fading Toward Enlightenment ($9.95) and the rework and updates to The Implications of the Soul (free). Both are available on this site.

It’s getting a little crowded up here on my mountain. Apparently deer hunting season (with bows) is due to start in about a week and the hunters are nailing down their campsites early. Looks like I’ll be heading out tomorrow as I’ve grown kind of attached to the deer around here. North, South, East, or West? Not sure yet.

Bird

Since arriving on this mountain, I have spent a lot of time meditating, seeing and clearing the ego mind. Today something magical happened…

Seeing Clearly

Seeing Clearly is now available for download. I originally wrote it back in 1997, though it was never published. More info here.

Out My Window

This little girl was eating my discarded sunflower seeds. I guess she liked the salt.

Finishing up Seeing Clearly and getting it ready for the publication online. Seeing Clearly is a lot more like Fading Toward Enlightenment (Spiritual and Poetic) than A Simple Explanation For Everything (Physical and Spiritual Theory). Easy, serene and with more than a dozen artistic photos. Hope you’ll like it.

Sitting Frog

Sitting Frog

I sat on a rock, by a brook, next to a field, on the slopes of Mt. Hood – meditating. In the brook, on a rock sat this little frog. While both of us sat there for nearly two hours, I was the one who tired first. How is it that a frog can sit for two hours with nothing to do while it drives most humans crazy? I thought on this during that meditation session…

Two New Videos

Monday, August 10th, 2009

I’ve just released a couple videos that I hope will stimulate interest in A Simple Explanation for Everything. Please go to YouTube and:

  • Watch them
  • Share them with your friends
  • Comment on them (on YouTube)

I hope that with your comments and sending the videos to others that your actions will generate enough interest that the videos will spread on their own. This will help me a great deal.

Here are the YouTube links:

Thanks, I know I’m asking for help here (and I hate asking for help), so I really appreciate it!

Nomad Randy

One of the reasons I returned to this area was to check out the rig of one of the people who inspired me to become a nomad. Nearly two years ago I came across Randy’s website. What caught my attention was that he had converted a cargo trailer into a stealthy RV trailer. Since he was in the northwest and I’ve been considering “downgrading” to a more stealthy vehicle, I invited myself over to check out his rig – to which he readily agreed, even though he knew nothing of me…

Back on Mt. Hood

2009_08_08_01.jpg

I’m back at my boondock spot on Mt. Hood (Oregon). I’m here for a couple of reasons: There’s a fellow nomad in the area whom I want to meet and check out his rig; I want some isolation to ebook-tize my other books; and I want to figure out my next steps without distractions.

Though it’s been less than a month since I was here before, a couple changes are apparent: It’s quite a bit colder; all the flowers in this shot are gone; and there are a lot more birds about. Funny how quickly a tiny clearing changes.

A Simple Explanation For Everything

I’m pleased to announce the release of my latest book, A Simple Explanation for Everything. Available in eBook format (Adobe PDF) for instant download here.

I’ve also modified the website a bit, making it cleaner and more centered around my works. Let me know if you have any suggestions or see any problems. Thanks!

Your Bliss

My RV & Jeep

Yesterday’s post might have implied that I was pushing this nomadic lifestyle on you. I didn’t mean that at all. My main gist was to “find your bliss” and pursue it.

But how do you “find your bliss?” …

I Love The Nomad Life

Trees at Sunrise

I love this lifestyle. I’ve been up here on this hill outside the Olympic National Forest for about a week now, finishing up the book. Tomorrow, probably, I’ll move into a campground for a couple days to recharge the batteries, empty and fill the tanks, upload some big files to the ‘net and move on.

It’s so great to just up and go when you feel like it. The freedom. I’ve been on the road a year now, and I am so glad I made this decision.

I have absolutely no regrets. I hope each of you finds your bliss, your passion, and – when those natural “what if” fears arise – well, I hope you’re wise enough to ignore them.
