An Overdue Swim

Sedona Pool

Though this photo is from Sedona, I took a long overdue dip in the Colorado River outside of Needles, CA today…

I haven’t swam for months now and I’m surprised how my body almost aches to be immersed in water. I’ve known how to scuba dive since I was 12, don’t remember not knowing how to snorkel, let alone swim and even though the water was cold, it was heaven.

A bit of advice, bro: When you get to the California coast, rent a sweatsuit (you know – the kind you dive in). Everyone who’s studied oceanography knows that the water on the west side of a continent is ALWAYS cold.

The Pacific is no exception. ;>

I’ll agree with Ketira. After hiking across the USA I went to the beach and made it as far as my ankles and quickly turned around and had enough of the Pacific Ocean. It is very cold.
