“and Life emits a Fragrance…”

Yesterday, Quinzelle left a comment that struck me. She often leaves comments with great quotes from great writers, yesterday’s was from Thoreau. The part that resonated with me was “and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs.”
Sometimes, rarely, you meet people who “emit a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs.” Not in their scent, but in their attitude…
Back in Deerfield (Florida), my former neighbor Denise has this quality, always greeting you with a warm smile and a hug. My buddy Doug has it, with his funny, happy-go-lucky attitude. I suspect, though I’ve never met her, Quinzelle has this attitude also.
It’s not that these people have it made – hard times befall all of us. It’s just that they tend to focus more on the joys of life rather than the pains.
People like this are a gift to everyone they meet.
