Newbie Mistake
April 10th, 2009 by Wayne (Wirs)
My plan was to head over to Yosemite today, but my S. Florida ignorance got in the way – that and the Sierra Nevada Mountain range…
Apparently, in some parts of the world, they close roads because of snow. Some, like one of the few across said mountain range, are closed through May. Who would have thought?
But I take these setbacks as signs, so I’m staying in the tiny western town of Tonopah, NV to get some much needed work done.
The above shot was from the ghost town Rhyolite outside Beatty, NV. I didn’t see any ghosts so I’m not sure what they were talking about.
If you think others may enjoy this post, please share it via Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc...
Thank-you. Wayne

@Deb. Your right, I didn’t put a link to where Ryholite is. Thanks.
Just FYI, though it isn’t real apparent, you can almost always see where I am next to the “Location” link (under the “Stumble It” button). Many “roadie” bloggers don’t put where they are and this is always frustrating – ergo the “Location” link.

OMG……. I TOTALLY missed that location link. LOL I’ll look for it in the future.

My kids used to play a computer game, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
When I was looking up the location, that thought came to me….

Yep, those are some damn big mountains. Go back in June, that’s usually when everything is open.
