The Map of Life. Part V: The Plateau of the Serene Witness

Unbeknownst to most, on the far side of the Pit of Doom, lies the Plateau of the Serene Witness. Most will only arrive here after their body has expired, the Darkness engulfs them, and the Light – a soothing and beckoning Presence – guides them to the other side.
Some though, a very rare few, will find their way here during this lifetime. From the Plateau, all the illusions of the Mind are seen through – evaporating like morning mist in the sunlight of day.
Having bodies, physical Pleasure and Pain are still felt, but having seen through the mental, artificial images of the mind, the roller-coaster of Joy and Sorrow gently comes to a halt.
For the residents of the Plateau – both the Living and the Dead – Bliss and Happiness prevail.

in the Land of Joy & Sorrow,
Lessons are learned…
and when the Soul is ready,
the Great Leap of Faith
–across the Pit,
landing on the Plateau–
is made.
some go there, and never come back.
others go there
–and are drawn back across the Pit
back to the Land again.
why?
many reasons are possible:
–there is Someone still in the Land,
one of those souls who wants to make the Leap,
but is afraid to….
–the Soul is addicted to the Illusion;
it wants to stay, but chooses instead
to go back to the Land,
even though the Soul *knows* it’s an Illusion….
–the Soul hasn’t learned all the Lessons it needs to Learn,
and thus is afraid to make the Leap….
….the possibilities are as endless as the Imagination.
and me?
well…. in the very distant Past,
when a Legend was Real,
this Soul made a promise to another Soul
–one it Loved deeply, and still does.
the Promise was reaffirmed down the Centuries,
and is still in force.
two Souls, mirrors of each other,
Reincarnating again and again and again,
down through Time.
The Egyptians called it a “Soul Twin”,
and that is what i am.
oh, I know that i’m still in the Land,
but until we have *both* finished our Lessons –
we’ll keep Reincarnating….
….and we’ll make the Leap *together*.
