Reflections On The Tao – I

Light on the Trees

Warrior’s Path S.P., Kingsport, TN–From the Tao Te Ching, Chapter 42, last paragraph:

What others teach, I also teach; that is:
“A violent man will die a violent death!”
This will be the essence of my teaching.

My thoughts on this below the break…

The obvious: What you are is reflected in your world. If you are distrustful, you will see suspicious people everywhere. If you are happy, you will see joy everywhere. This has been said a thousand times in a thousand ways, there is nothing new to this.

But what happens when you wake up? What happens when you recognize your true nature?

When the personal self drops and you feel the Divine within… then everywhere you look, you see God (what you feel within you is reflected around you).

So turn it around: Practice seeing the Beloved, the Life Force, the Divine Within. Practice seeing Her in everything–the trees, the clouds, the sidewalk–and soon you will start to feel Her in yourself. See Her all around you and soon you will see Her within.

See Her within–feel Her within–and the shift will come easily: the Personal Self will drop away… and you’ll wake up from the dream.
