2006 Pioneer 180CK Travel Trailer

I picked up the trailer Tuesday, towed it to Melbourne, and am now camped in Wickham Park. It’s a Pioneer 180CK. Only 18 feet long on the inside, but that’s plenty of room. I like living simply.

Over the last three days I’ve been going through all the setup stuff needed when you purchase a rig: running from store to store buying and fixing all the little things, getting things tweeked to suit my preferences.

It’s been almost exactly a year since I’ve had a home of my own. Feels good.

I’m beat, but I’m happy.

Let Go

Natural Peace

The only time you lose is when you are trying to win.

When you lose, you suffer.

Let go.

DO but don’t strive.

To reveal your inborn Peace—a Peace arising from your deepest essence—let go and surrender.

Stop trying to win.

Bad Things Suck

First Flat On 528

I bought a new home yesterday—a 22 foot 2006 Pioneer Travel Trailer.

While towing it back to Palm Bay, one of the tires blew.

I changed it with the spare.

Five minutes later the spare tire blew.

Ants bit the bejesus out of my feet as I disconnected the trailer and left it on the side of the highway.

I drove to the nearest RV dealer and they didn’t do tires anymore.

They referred me to a wonderful place though, Space Coast Industries, and they gave me a tire and hub (didn’t even ask my name).

I changed the tire…

and ants bit the bejesus out of my feet again.

I towed the trailer to Space Coast Industries and I’m having them replace all the tires.

The tires probably blew because my ball hitch is too low for the trailer, leaning the trailer forward and putting too much weight on the front tires.

A raised ball hitch is only $20 at Walmart.

I won’t get my trailer back until next week.

At the DMV today, it took me three trips to get my address changed and my trailer registered (post 9/11 bureaucracies hate nomads).

The DMV fees were $700 dollars.

It has been a very physically and emotionally exhausting two days.

My Point

Bad things happen to everyone.

If you take “bad things” personally, you suffer.

If you don’t take them personally, they are just painful stuff.

If you think you should always win, you suffer.

If you don’t think you should always win, “bad things” aren’t bad at all, they are just this.

All these events were physically and emotionally painful, but they weren’t personal. They didn’t happen to me, they just happened.

Taking things personally and making winning important are traits of the Mortal level.

They make your life suck.

Let go of the Mortal illusion.

Bad things happen.

Bad things are painful…

but they don’t have to suck

and you don’t have to suffer.

Treat The Soul As A Fact

Statue

You treat the Big Bang theory as a fact.

But it is only a theory.

Do you know where the Universe came from?

No.

Do you know what happens after you die?

No.

Just as the Big Bang is a theory, what you believe happens to you after you die is a theory.

Do you want to live happy and carefree and free of fear?

Then pick a theory that supports the way you’d like to live.

Just like the Big Bang, treat your “after death” theory as a fact.

If you choose to live as a Soul (and there is ample evidence that the Soul is real)—if you treat the Soul as a fact—you will live happy and carefree and free of fear.

Why would you live any other way?

Really. Why would you want to live any other way?

Can you think of a better way of living?

Drop your dead-end Mortal theory. Treat the Soul as a fact.

Live as a Soul and be free.

Empty Playground

Sometimes it sucks to be Awake.

My niece’s wedding was last Saturday, so I spent the night at my brother’s down in Coral Springs (Florida). The next morning, after breakfast, I felt a sudden and overwhelming urge to head back “home” to Palm Bay.

The Smart and the Wise

Two of a Kind

On the Path to spiritual enlightenment, there are two types of seekers: The Smart and the Wise.

It is very easy to tell them apart.

From reading about the Path, the Smart live in their minds, and what they say and what they do are often in conflict.

From walking the Path, the Wise live in the World, and thus their words and actions are harmonious.

A Little Life in a Vast Field

Yesterday, I found out that my mother’s chemotherapy may take up to seven more months—seven freakin months. Maybe less, maybe more—the doctors don’t even know.

They are using a targeted, pill-form of chemo—milder side effects, but apparently a much longer treatment program. It’s not that anything new was discovered, it’s just that in all the visits and info and confusion, they never mentioned this.

The news dashed all hopes I had of hitting the road anytime soon.

So how does a Mystic handle deep disappointment? My answer below the break.

Loving Yourself Too Much

Window and Ladder

Why do you want so much (I want, I want, I want)?

Because you love yourself too much.

When you let go of yourself, when you stop taking yourself so seriously, your identity relaxes and Love naturally awakens, stirs, and shines forth from your very being (Radiance).

Still Learning

Blue Garage Door

One of the tasks I’ve assigned some of the students is to ask themselves during their day-to-day life, “Would this be important to me in 5000 years?”

If you are truly living as an eternal Soul, what is so important to you now that would still be important to you in 5000 years?

I asked myself that very question just this morning.

More below the break.

Walk It

Leaves of Grass

Walk it. Don’t just think about it.

Contrary to most nondual teachings today, Truth isn’t something to be figured out.

It is Truth.

It is not Nothingness or Emptiness or some theory of “No-Mind.”

Truth is not a theory.

Truth is taste. It is sound. It is passion.

Truth is very simple…

Truth is Life Itself.
