No One Waiting

No One Waiting

COLUMBIA, TN—I had planned on staying at the Meriwether Lewis campground on the Natchez Trace for a few days (interesting story) to get some work done and make some mods to this site, but, though beautiful, it was swarmed with yellow jackets. One camper who has stayed there twice a year for decades said it was the worst he’d ever seen.

After a couple hours, not having screens on my van, I gave up and hopped in the driver’s seat and drove off.

With some pretty serious rains in the forecast (at least that’s what everyone keeps telling me), I headed over to Columbia to crash for the night. Maybe I’ll get a room tomorrow to wait out the storm and get some work done.

We’ll see. I’m anything if not adaptable.

  1. There’s a saying which may be apropos here… from a bumper sticker that reads: “If you lived in your car, you’d be home by now.”

And a similar one says: “If you lived in your heart you’d be home by now.”

Both are true for the advanced van-dwelling sage.
