More (Personal) Supporting Evidence of the Soul

Wall Flowers

I have a slight, four inch long indentation in my skull, just at the hairline above my left eye. It isn’t visible, but you can feel where is seems like the edge of a 2×4 whacked me sometime in the past.

Though I spent far more time in the emergency room than most children, not once was it for a head injury.

Today, I was reading about a study on reincarnation and how often blemishes or birthmarks coincide with people’s past life memories of injuries.

I found that interesting because one of my first past life memories (recalled as I was testing out this mediation (quarter of the way down the page)) was as a Norwegian 15th century ship builder, and being killed when a timber on the bow sprung loose and crushed my skull. The beam smashed me in the head in the identical place as my (current) head dent.

I never made that connection before.

“Forgetting it all” may at first seem depressing, but if you truly live it, you will feel a profound relaxing—a mysterious opening—and a newfound appreciation of the Present Moment.

Treat The Soul As A Fact

You treat the Big Bang theory as a fact.

But it is only a theory.

Do you know where the Universe came from?

No.

Do you know what happens after you die?

No.

Just as the Big Bang is a theory, what you believe happens to you after you die is a theory.

Do you want to live happy and carefree and free of fear?

Then pick a theory that supports the way you’d like to live.

Just like the Big Bang, treat your “after death” theory as a fact.

If you choose to live as a Soul (and there is ample evidence that the Soul is real)—if you treat the Soul as a fact—you will live happy and carefree and free of fear.

Why would you live any other way?

Really. Why would you want to live any other way?

Can you think of a better way of living?

Drop your dead-end Mortal theory. Treat the Soul as a fact.

Live as a Soul and be free.

A Little Life in a Vast Field

Yesterday, I found out that my mother’s chemotherapy may take up to seven more months—seven freakin months. Maybe less, maybe more—the doctors don’t even know.

They are using a targeted, pill-form of chemo—milder side effects, but apparently a much longer treatment program. It’s not that anything new was discovered, it’s just that in all the visits and info and confusion, they never mentioned this.

The news dashed all hopes I had of hitting the road anytime soon.

So how does a Mystic handle deep disappointment? My answer below the break.

If you are truly living as an eternal Soul, what is so important to you now that would still be important to you in 5000 years?

While in the mysterious realm between lives, the mystic/Soul consciously chooses a life “weighted” with the same pain she has caused others. She voluntarily opts for this pain in an effort to deeply learn the lesson of her selfishness: That her selfish actions keep her separate from the Divine.

Without the fear of Death, the mystic at the Soul Level is so much happier than the Mortal (Me! Me! Me! Me!), but still feels the need to fix herself—to overcome her perceived failings (My karma, my karma, my karma, (me)).

The Soul level is the level of Freedom: Freedom from the fears that plague the Mortal; Freedom to act outside social conventions; Freedom to take risks.

Without fears, the mystic is free to live authentically.

She is free to live true.

More Evidence of the Soul

Amsterdam reader Lode sent me a link to the following documentary, The Day I Died.

What makes the videos important is that the majority of the experiences were verified by the physicians and staff (ie: descriptions of the surgical tools, conversations by the staff, where some dentures were placed…) while the patients were having their NDEs (near death experiences).

I particularly liked the description of the Light (this segment around 3:45) by one woman who, while “dead,” asked her deceased uncle if the Light was God, and he replied that no, the Light is what happens when God breathes.

That piece resonated with me because it is a perfect description of what the Radiant Level feels like—like God breathing through you.

Enjoy—and think about what being a Soul implies.

The Death Assumption

Many people assume that, at death, we just blank out. Nothingness. Blackness. End of story. This belief is supported by the “nothingness” we experience during both anesthesia and dreamless sleep. Combine this “evidence” with the common medical standard that death occurs when the brain stops functioning and you create a very common belief that physical death means the death of consciousness—that physical death means the death of us.

Unfortunately this belief is all based on a tragically mistaken assumption: The assumption that we ARE our thoughts.

But here’s the truth of the matter (no god or religion required): You do not die when your body dies.

More accurately it is who you think you are.

But the who is an illusion, and its story is just describing that illusion.

Your story (and the who it describes) is not what you really are.

To shift from Mortal to Soul, a key practice is to see your story in much the same way as you see your clothes. You wear them for awhile, then you take them off.

Your clothes aren’t you—they are temporary.

Your story isn’t you—it is temporary.

Make the leap. See yourself as—and live as—a Soul. Use Life as a practice ground, as a constant reminder, to help you transcend your (temporary) mortal story.

The Lonely Road

FALLON, NV—I’m heading west again.

Yesterday, on the loneliest part of the Loneliest Road (US 50 in NV), my front tire blew out. When I knelt to examine the remains, I impaled my hands and knees on about a thousand tiny thorns that cover the ground here (it’s a lonely and prickly road). I jumped around and swore for a few seconds, caught my breath (it’s a lonely and prickly and high road), jacked up the car, changed the tire and continued on.

Another cool thing about living as a Soul is that practically nothing that happens in this Mortal life is a big deal. If the car had caught fire and everything I own burned up… not a big deal. I’d regret losing my computer, but only as a reaction.

From the perspective of the Soul, this life is comparable to say, a year in high school. It seems important (and long) going through it, but from the big picture view (of your Big Picture Life), it is nothing.

When you look at life this way, you fear nothing. You take risks, you win, you lose, you pick yourself up, pull out the damn thorns, and continue down the road.

Living Life as a Soul is so much nicer than when I lived as a Mortal.

Because when you could care less about all the minutia that goes along with being human–the minutia that is important to people who think they die but is irrelevant to those who think they are immortal souls–then it is much easier to let go of the Personal Self, to surrender the Illusion and find the bliss of Mystical Oneness.

Evolving from Human to Soul to Radiance to Oneness (see TBOMO) is a much easier path (think grade school to high school to college to doctorate) than trying to go from Human Being straight to Oneness (ie: going from grade school directly to your doctorate degree (it can be done, but isn’t very likely)).

The secret to inner peace is to stop believing in illusions.

If any of these questions bother you, then you are caught up in the World of Illusion.

PALM BAY, FL–In the preface to The Benefits of Mystical Oneness , I mention taking a “leap of faith” as the first step on the mystical path to enlightenment. This “leap” is where the spiritual seeker stops thinking of herself as a mortal human being, and starts living as if she is an eternal soul.

Once she makes the leap (not just thinking about being a soul, but actually living as if she were one), she–quite simply–loses the fear of death. Without this fear, her spiritual growth accelerates exponentially–and her life changes dramatically.

So how do we do this? How do we convince ourselves that we are a Soul?

You’ve heard and read stories of people who have claimed to have “gone beyond” and returned. Maybe you’ve had some visions yourself. The problem is, most of us aren’t naive–many of us are naturally skeptical. We’ll often dismiss these stories–even our own memories–as fantasy or delusion.

In order to make such a dramatic change to our core identity, what we need is evidence that the Soul is real. Evidence. Verifiable accounts and studies by the scientific community.

Below is but a tiny piece of a massive amount of evidence in support of the human soul. I hope, after reading it, that it helps convince you that we are not merely human beings, but eternal Souls who cannot die. I hope with this evidence, that the jump from the edge of the cliff down into the Abyss–the first step toward Mystical Oneness–becomes just a little bit easier to make.
